  • SSPI 2008- Innovator for System Development & Application 2008

    The Industry Innovator Awards program was initiated in 1993 to identify and recognize outstanding new contributions to the field of satellite communications by both private-sector and public-sector organizations. Honorees are chosen for accomplishments ranging across a broad spectrum of advanced satellite technology and business applications. The innovation award will be presented to Mindset's CEO, Vis Naidoo, at a gala event in Washington, DC on 26 February. The Award recognises outstanding contributions to the field of satellite communications by both private-sector and public-sector organisations. Winning in the non-profit sector, Mindset is being recognised for using satellite communications to transform education on national and international levels. Because of Mindset, educational and healthcare professionals are becoming more knowledgeable and in turn educating the next generation, which ultimately is creating social change.

  • Development Gateway 2006- Winner Development Gateway Award 2006

    The annual Development Gateway Award recognizes outstanding achievement in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) to improve the lives of people in developing countries. The award program receives detailed nominations for initiatives around the world, and the prize is substantial: $100,000. We are pleased to recognize and thank the following leaders for their contribution and efforts as international jurors. NSTF 2005

  • NSTF 2005- Winner, National Science & Technology Forum (NSTF) Awards 2005 (Not-for-profit category)

    These awards are unique in South Africa, recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals and groups of individuals to SET and therefore affords an opportunity for recognition and celebration of all practising scientists, engineers and technologists across the system of innovation, including, for example, teachers and students in mathematics, science and technology. In the category F: Not-for-Profit organization over the last two years Mindset Network, Johannesburg For the provision of high quality, multimedia educational resources using a range of delivery strategies to support teaching and learning in under-resourced schools. Mindset Learn aims to provide curriculum-aligned, multimedia content for educators and learners focused on the last three years of formal education. Video content is currently broadcast on Mindset Learn to selected high schools in previously disadvantaged communities with funded receiving equipment in over a million homes in Southern Africa via the DStv platform.
