The Galvanic Cell

This lesson deals with the galvanic cell. Galvanic cells generate electricity from a chemical reaction. The cathode is an electrode with a negative charge in a cell. The anode is an electrode with a positive charge. The half reaction in which electrons are lost is called oxidation, while the half reaction in which electrons are gained is called reduction.
